UAE and Indonesia 45 years of cooperation strategic relationships and growing partnerships
H.E. Marwan Al Sarkal
Executive Chairman of Sharjah Investment & Development Authority
With a thrust to bilateral trade and economic cooperation, Sharjah and Indonesia are enhancing investor confidence by fostering an attractive environment for businesses.
Sharjah’s diversified economy, strategic location and world-class infrastructure has enhanced its appeal as a key gateway for Indonesian companies to access both regional and global markets. Indonesia’s appeal as a premier investment destination stems from its rich natural resources, energy, minerals, agriculture, as well as its huge industrial sector, which makes it one of the world’s most significant emerging economies.
There are 20 Indonesian companies operating in Sharjah in innovation-rich sectors such as agritech, greentech, healthcare, logistics and entertainment. I emphasize that Sharjah keenness in widening the scope of its economic activities and investment inflows, to further improve the volume of trade exchange between Sharjah and Indonesia, which currently stands at AED 17.169.996 as of 2020.
