UAE and Indonesia 45 years of cooperation strategic relationships and growing partnerships

H.E. Dr. Ridha Wirakusumah
Chief Executive Officer of Indonesia Investment Authority

The relationship between UAE and Indonesia dated back many years ago and has gotten even stronger on all levels. From our President to the UAE Royal Family, to strong cooperation amongst the Ambassadors, to close relationship and dialogue amongst the Ministers of the two countries and also to the working levels at the Sovereign Wealth Funds level, including ADIA and Mubadalah from the UAE and Indonesian Sovereign Wealth Fund, INA (Indonesian Investment Authority).
As a new entity born out of the Omnibus Law, Indonesian government received valuable advice from ADIA (one of UAE’s SWF) both on the Governance matters as well as on the Commercial topics for the establishment of INA. Given the successful UAE’s SWFs, such valuable advice is much appreciated. Furthermore, UAE has announced that it will invest US$10 billion into INA and earmarked for infrastructure, roads, ports, tourism, healthcare and other priority sectors with strong multiplier effects. UAE tremendous support and guidance is much appreciated and will cement even closer relationship between the people of the two nations.
