The cooperation between Egypt and the UAE dates back to 1974, wherein both the countries worked towards pushing for the advancement of the energy, housing, agriculture, education, health, and transportation sectors.
In 2019, the UAE and Egypt’s trade relations and bilateral exports got a major fillip with the signing of the agreement between Etihad Credit Insurance, ECI, the UAE Federal Export Credit company, and ECGE, the Export Credit Guarantee Company of Egypt.
According to the reports released by the UAE Ministry of Economy, the UAE-Egypt non-oil trade in 2019 amounted to AED 22.09 billion, showing a strong overall strategic partnership between the two countries.
