Indonesia - UAE has a strong relationship in many aspects, especially in economic cooperation. Today, the UAE has transitioned from a natural resource-based economy into a diverse, productive economy based on knowledge, innovation, and energy.
Indonesia also wants to move to a more productive, sustainable economy based on innovation and future energy. Indonesia has set its foot on the global supply chain of lithium batteries, electric vehicles, and green products. In this modern world, Indonesia can no longer rely on natural resources to strive. Technology is one sector that can answer these challenges. We have seen how Indonesia gave birth to six unicorns and thousands of rising technology startups in less than a decade.
The people of Indonesia and the UAE are blessed to have leaders like president Joko Widodo and Crown Prince MBZ. Both have a vision of bringing their country into a modern state. The two leaders have a solid commitment to transform both countries' economies towards countries with modern economies, shifting away from natural resources commodities to knowledge-based economies, innovation, and technology.
