UAE – Indonesia trade & economic initiatives are witnessing unprecedented growth and I am sure it will continue to go upwards after the huge investment of US$ 10 billion by UAE into Indonesia.

The UAE and Indonesia enjoy strong political, economic and cultural ties thanks to the mutual visits at the level of top leadership and senior officials, most notably the visit by President Joko Widodo in September 2015 to the UAE, and the visit by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to Indonesia in July 2019.

Lulu Group has been a very active investor in the retail & food sectors of Indonesia with 5 hypermarkets and a sourcing center. As part of our expansion plan, we intend to open at least 15 new hypermarkets and 25 express markets in the next 5 years along with a state-of-the-art logistics center in Indonesia. We already employ more than 900 Indonesians in Indonesia and this number will rise to over 5.000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the next three years. LuLu had signed an agreement with West Java Government of Indonesia to provide employment to the local work force in its retail stores worldwide.
