The investment and commercial relations with the Republic of Italy are based on a historical friendship, as Italy is an important strategic partner for the Emirate of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates in several economic and investment fields. This is evidenced by the volume of Italian investments in Dubai in the retail and wholesale trade sectors, non-residential construction and warehousing, which amounted to a total of one billion dirhams during the past five years, according to data from the Dubai Investment Monitor of the Dubai Investment Development Agency, in addition to the fact that the Italian community in Dubai and the UAE is the largest in the Middle East, which reflects the depth of relations and ties between the two countries.

Italy is one of the main countries on the Agency’s agenda. We are keen to organize promotional missions and virtual seminars with our partners in Italy to discuss opportunities for new partnerships, exchange knowledge in various sectors, and provide support and incentives for Italian investors and companies in Dubai. Italy’s participation in Expo Dubai 2020 is an important occasion to enhance investment and trade relations between the two countries, during one of the most important global events to attract and promote various investment opportunities through a dynamic platform to enhance cooperation between all countries participating in its activities.
