UAE and Nigeria... promising economic prospects
We consider Nigeria as an important trade and investment partner for the UAE especially as it has the largest economy and population in the African region. The UAE’s trade with Nigeria has also seen a significant boost over the decade—with their non-oil foreign trade reaching over AED 5.3 billion in 2019. In addition, the country is set to position itself as a regional leader in business especially with the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. This is the reason we believe that the strategic partnerships fostered between these two nations have helped further bolster the competitiveness of their businesses, as well as fortified economic cooperation in the region.
In addition, we are also honoured to have supported female entrepreneurs in the country through our capacity building activities under the SheTrades MENA project. The robust bilateral relations between the UAE and Nigeria is poised to help assure long-term economic growth, and we are looking forward to the many opportunities their ties will offer in the interest UAE-based businesses.
